This works for all Nokia E series too .. (e61 , e70 , e60 )
I have been searching and studying for almost a week now on how to use and setup the VoiP features on my Nokia e61 and I have found that there are lots of ways to do that.
I have picked up these three most easy and common ways:
1-SipGate :
You will need to Create a SIPGATE account to get a sip number .
After you have created and confirmed your account Click Here and log in to your SipGate account to configure your Nokia E60/61 for your sipgate account. .
This is the easiest way .

2-Gizmo Project :
First you will need to Create a Gizmo Project account
Here is how to configure your Nokia e61\e60 :
Go to Tools - Settings - Connection -SIP settings - Create the
following profile
Profile Name: sipphone
Service Profile: IETF
Default Access point: (your WLAN AP name )
Public user name: sip:1747xxxxxxx@proxy01.sipphone.com
Use Compression: No
Registration: " When needed "
Use Security: No
Proxy Server: sip: proxy01.sipphone.com
Realm: proxy01.sipphone.com
User Name: 1747xxxxxxx
Password: [You SIPPhone password]
Allow loose routing: Yes
Transport Type: TCP
Port: 5060
Registrar Server: sip:proxy01.sipphone.com
Realm: proxy01.sipphone.com
User Name: 1747xxxxxxx
Password: [Your SIPPhone password]
Transport Type: TCP
Port: 5060
Then go to connection - Internet Tel. Settings -
Create a new profile for "sipphone"(1747xxxxxxx), name it "sipphone"
In Connectivity - Internet tel. - Preferred profile - Choose "sipphone"
Then go back to Connection - SIP settings - sipphone and change the Registration from ( when needed ) to ( Always on ) now your phone will register to the
Gizmo network .
*If you don’t know your Sip number that starts with 1747 xxxxxx open the Gizmo Project program on your p.c click on edit -> profile .

i do follow your instruction, but doesn't
work. i use e70 access with my access point and sip account from some vender in my country.
when i call out, i got message "internet telephone not available" .
i'm sure my e70 can surf the internet, i'm tested by go to some website.
Oky first what service are you useing .. Gizmo ?
It may be not working cause your router’s firewall are blocking some important ports . there are lots of reasons why it my be not working .
Did you try using SIPGATE ??
Am using SIPGate and its working really fine with me .
And am using Gizmo Project with P.B.Xes and they are all working really fine . I can make and receive calls >>
Try the Gizmo with the P.B.Xes solution ;)
Dear Sir,
I want to buy some nokia phone like E 61 or E 70 but when I look at their specifications at nokia.co.uk , I have seen a point there that voice chat--- NO , my question is If voice chat is not available, how can I use VOIP on these sets, Please reply and suggest me the right phone to buy .
